To strengthen our team in the area of project management and applications & testing, we are urgently seeking a

Building Materials Tester, Geotechnical Engineer, Civil Engineer or Geoscientist to join us as an Applications Engineer (m/f/d)

A key part of the role involves technically testing testing systems for use at the customer’s site, providing scientific support within the working group, and carrying out acceptance tests both in-house and on-site at the laboratories in collaboration with the customer. You will also support the sales team in responding to customer enquiries regarding application-specific solutions.

Furthermore, during the project phase, you will oversee the implementation of customer orders, taking into account application-specific requirements. In doing so, you will also act as a key interface between Sales, customers and our internal technical departments.

• Supervising and conducting application-specific tests (test procedures)
• Supporting the planning and execution of commissioning
• Providing application-specific support to customers during the project phase
• Actively supporting the teams working on the projects    
• Developing application-specific solutions in collaboration with the sales department, or assisting with the preparation of quotations
• Initiating and supporting the conception and planning of products, taking into account future market and application requirements
• Assisting with product and project approvals
• Supporting customer acceptance procedures, either in-house or at the customer’s premises

• Within the scope of development projects, you will communicate closely with the sales team and the customer
• You will draw up concepts (solution approaches) which, in consultation with the internal technical departments and, in specific cases, with the customer, will be incorporated into the planning and technical implementation
• For complex projects, you will support the sales team in drawing up and calculating quotations
• You act as the point of contact for application-related queries for Sales, customers and the project team
• Throughout the project, you keep track of customer and application requirements and take new requirements into account where necessary, without neglecting the project’s financial objectives
• You use test plans to ensure the results required by the project
• By carrying out system tests and documenting the test results, you ensure internal or customer acceptance

• You are able to communicate with a variety of international clients and their cultures
• Ideally, you have a degree in geosciences, geotechnical engineering, civil engineering or building materials testing, or have acquired equivalent experience and knowledge through comparable roles
• You may already have a good working knowledge of geotechnical testing and experimental procedures, ideally complemented by technical expertise in
• metrology applications
• Experience in application-oriented client consultancy would make your start easier
• Ideally, you have already gained experience in an internationally oriented company and have a good command of English
